The Archaeology Road Show made its fourth annual return to the Deschutes Historical Museum on Saturday. Bones, artifacts, art, and even primitive hunting tools were all exhibited in hopes to give visitors a better understanding of the science and how it's used in the 21st century.

Bones, artifacts, art, and even primitive hunting tools were all exhibited on the Deschutes Historical Museum's lawn on Saturday, marking the return of The Archaeology Road Show.

"It's a great opportunity for folks to just come and understand and learn about archaeology and what that means today in the 21st century," executive director for the Deschutes Historical Museum Kelly Cannon-Miller said. "We're very privileged to have tribal partners here from Warm Springs and from the Klamath tribes presenting about how archaeology and tribes interact.

This was the road show's fourth appearance at the Deschutes Historical Museum with this year's theme centering around art and craft.

"So, how do we see design and function in tribal arts? We have bead work and basketry, and every year has a theme," Cannon-Miller said.

The museum partners with Portland State University to host the event every year.

The next show is scheduled for next June.
